A Spokane man was arrested after allegedly stealing multiple wallets from a Coeur d’Alene gym.
21-year-old, Jaymes R. Kirby, is charged with two counts of grand theft of a financial instrument, one count of destruction of evidence, and two counts of petit theft.
Kirby allegedly pried open a locker at the gym around 3:45 am Saturday and stole two patrons’ belongings.
One of the stolen debit cards was reportedly used at a Coeur d’Alene gas station by Kirby. He then allegedly discarded the missing wallets into a trash can.
Provided security footage shows Kirby’s car, which was later located by police at a Coeur d’Alene motel.
When officers questioned Kirby at the motel, he admitted to being at the gym that morning and also acknowledged to throwing items in the trash can, according to the Coeur d’Alene Press.
Kirby was arrested and police found the missing items in the motel room.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Apr. 9.
If convicted, he could face one to 20 years in prison.
