47-year-old Dwayne A. Bradley, of Rathdrum, plead guilty in accordance with Alford to vehicular manslaughter after prosecutors say he caused a man's death while drunk driving.
An Alford plea doesn't mean Bradley admitted to the crime but acknowledges that there is enough evidence that he might be convicted if the case went to trial.
Back in Oct. of 2019, Bradley allegedly backed out of the parking lot at Bob's 21 Club in Post Falls when he turned and slammed the breaks, reportedly causing his passenger to be ejected from the vehicle.
The passenger died after sustaining head injuries.
Bradley, who has had five prior DUIs, as well as convictions for felony eluding and trafficking meth, had a blood alcohol content of .173, according to the Coeur d'Alene Press.
Bradley has been sentenced to eight years fixed and seven years indeterminate.
