Bonners Ferry man allegedly leads police on pursuit after shoplifting | North Idaho News Now

A Bonners Ferry man is in jail after allegedly shop lifting and leading police on a pursuit Thursday morning.

At 7:30 am, deputies were dispatched for a report of an alleged shoplifter. Once they arrived on scene, Cory Stephen Eccles reportedly fled the scene in his vehicle traveling north on US95.

Eccles continued north past the 3-mile junction then took off on U.S. 2, according to the Bonners Ferry Herald. Police later called the pursuit off after losing sight of the suspect.

PIO, Andrew O’Neel told the Herald that “police discontinued the chase once Eccles no longer presented a danger to the public. Charges are pending.”
